Dans are acknowledged under precise orders of IKUMA and authenticated following the EN UNI ISO 9001:2000 certification. In order to obtain the acknowledgement and authentication of the Dan on the IKUMA International Budo Pass is needed to fill the apposite declaration (Form page); the payment of the agreed entrance fee for the requested Dan, if accepted, also includes the IKUMA Certificate, together with the authentication on the International Budo Pass. Every possessor of Dan has to fill the accompaning declaration, being both a single requester or member of a group. The Headquarter allows, while dealing with groups, the IKUMA Official Agent in that country to authenticate the Degrees, always establishing the authentication of Degrees using a written document. The IKUMA Headquarter will not acknowledge Dan issued by affiliates who haven't followed the established and authorized proceedings of the Certifying Institute.

IKUMA Internationl Brach suggests as a base the following scheduled time for the Dans:
1st Kyu to Shodan: 6 months;
Shodan to nidan: 2 years;
Nidan to Shadan: 3 years;
Yondan a Godan: 4 years.
For upper class of Dan the time rules are decided by the IKUMA Internation Branch, which also issues the authorization for the acknowledgement of degrees starting from Rokudan.

Released Dan:
IKUMA issues Dan until the 9th Dan (KyuDan); the authorization of the IKUMA Council is needed for the 10th Dan (Juudan)

Teaching Qualification:
-Technical Master - requested dan: Yondan (4th Dan);
-Technical Instructor - requested dan: Nidan (2nd Dan);

ATTENTION:
The exams can be held only if one, or both, of the two IKUMA Yondan has gained the qualification of Technical Master. If both the IKUMA Yondan only posses the Technical Instructor Qualification, the exams has no value. A Godan Technical master (5th Dan) is allowed to issue Dan only up to the second Dan (Nidan). TRADITIONAL TITLES
- RENSHI - Requested Dan: Godan (5th Dan);
- KYOSHI - Requested Dan: Rokudan (6th Dan);
- HANSHI - For this Title you need to be at least 50 years old, being at least Nanadan (7th Dan) and beholding the Kyoshi Title since 10 years or more.

Documents proving the posses of Dan, Titles and Licences has to be attached to every request. The illustrated proceedings has no other development, being subjected to the Quality Certification System, insurance of the IKUMA's professionalism in the martial world. If a request is not completed in every part or has not the necessary documentation, the request WILL NOT be accepted, and eventually fees will be returned. The exam fees for the Board of Dan, the acknowledgement of Dan, issues of Qualification and Titles can be directly request to the IKUMA HeadQuarter and paid in USD (USA Dollar) or Euro. The request, also by e-mail, has to contain surname and name of the requiring person or club, the country and a telephone number.
